Welcome, Bienvenida, Willkommen to DFCMetalArts

My name is Dottie Cohen and I am the owner of DFCMetalarts. Creating handcrafdottie-cohented and meaningful jewelry is my passion – designing, connecting with materials, the refining process, and the magic that happens with fire is thrilling. My hope is that you, too, will find a personal connection with these items which are both adornment and sculpture.

When the work leaves my studio, it is no longer mine yet connects me with you. I consider this an honor. Please also take a moment to read about my mission, as it is an important part of the meaning of my work.

My family was shattered by an act of family violence in 2007.  The death of my daughter Rachel at the hands of her husband furthered my commitment to supporting agencies dedicated to saving women’s lives.  Rachel was a dancer and just as a dancer needs a solid floor to practice her craft, cadres of people are committed to shoring up the foundation of these organizations with time, money, talent and hard work.

I applaud the many who make this their life’s work.  It is an honor to participate through sales to these organizations. As you wear a piece, be assured that it was made with delight, purpose, and dedication to stopping violence against women. I hope for a time when beauty and peace replace fear and violence. Your piece of DFCMetalArts helps to further this vision.

quote-closeJewelry may be purchased in my ETSY store or the gift shop in Arts Clayton Gallery.

I commit tWomens resource center logoo donating 20% of the proceeds from sales to support the mission of The Women’s Resource Center (WRC) in Atlanta, GA.  WRC provides extensive services to women who live in physical and psychological danger. This organization requires a strong financial foundation – your purchase of jewelry will help fortify this foundation.
